Don Bosco in Jerusalem & Beit Hanina!
At 9 a.m. the students of the De La Salle and Terra Santa schools came in groups to the Saint Saviour parish church to visit the relics of Don Bosco. Fr. Vincent, Bro. Sandy and Bro. Leo organized the visit and explained the life of Don Bosco and his spirituality to the students.

Fr Feras, the parish priest celebrated the mass at 12 noon. Three schools participated in the mass (St. Joseph’s, De La Salle, and Terra Santa). The church was filled to capacity with the students and other parishioners who came to join the festivity. Fr. Pier Giorgio and Fr. Vincent concelebrated. The heart of the sermon was a call for young people today to give colour and vigour to the mission of Don Bosco.

At 2 p.m. the casket was brought down from the parish church with the help of rails and the hard work of many men and taken to Beit Hanina, escorted by the police. The casket reached Beith Hanina at 3 p.m. Fr. Feras celebrated the mass there at 6 p.m. for about 200 people. The choir was well prepared and gave an enthralling homage to Don Bosco. After the mass people gathered around the casket and prayed and sang.

The casket was brought back to Jerusalem at around 8.10 p.m. The students of theology and a large representation of Filipino, Ethiopian and other immigrant groups joined the concelebrated mass at the Ratisbonne monastery. Rev. Fr. Ric Fernando, SDB celebrated the mass and preached a powerful homily. The faithful brought flowers and gifts to honour Don Bosco and gathered around the casket after the Mass to pray and pay their respects.
