Easter Greetings 2025

Dear Professors, Students and Friends,

Countless times we have heard—and I myself repeat it year after year, on every occasion—that we are privileged to live, study, and teach theology in Jerusalem.

And yet, at times, the weight of routine closes our ears, dims our eyes, and gently veils our hearts, so that we no longer fully see, hear, or feel this gift.

May the words of the 4th-century pilgrim Egeria awaken us anew to this grace. Reflecting on the celebrations of Easter in the Holy City, she wrote:

“It would be impossible for me to write to you all the ceremonies which take place at Easter in the holy places, or the amount of joy and solemnity which is shown by all the people during these days. For no one who has not been present at these ceremonies can have any idea of the joy and solemnity.” (Itinerarium Egeriae, ch. 45)

May her testimony remind us—professors and students alike—of the unique vocation we share, not only to study theology, but to live it at the very heart of the Paschal mystery.

With gratitude for our journey together, I wish you all a truly blessed and fruitful Easter.

Thank you for your collaboration and your presence.

Fr. Andrzej
